This is so new that I don't even think they have it online yet. My pictures may end up being what they post! I would try calling and talking to Carla at blue ox. I referred another guy a couple weeks ago but I'm not sure if he followed through or not?

Is that a Smitty Built bumper?

Thanks statgeek. Wish those were around in December when I had to go the same route Vince did for my 05 LJ.

Agree this is a great way to go. Previous to the BO setup I had a toad mounted A-frame tow bar (receiver/ball on the coach). I had adapters to connect it to the D-rings.

The BO bolt on brackets work great, but took a bit of work to install. Good steel in the bumper was not easy to drill and tight working area behind the bumper to get the washer/nuts on. Just changing the ends on the BO tow bar would be much easier.

The folks at Blue Ox really are top notch. Make sure that you tell them that u heard about these clips from a seriously happy customer! They took a risk making these clips for me hoping that they would sell to others....

Statgeek,

This is a Smittybilt XRC bumper? Are these the standard tabs or did you have them custom made? The proper fit will be key. What did you pay for the adapters? Thanks again.

Smittybilt, indeed. Blue Ox made them as a prototype. I was the first customer with them: was my idea that they make and sell them. I don't know how much they would charge but I suspect you may be able to order one of their tow bars with these instead of their standard clips? But just guessing..

Statgeek,

Which Smittybilt XRC as I see there are two, the standard and the Mod system. Sorry for the interrogation but before I start throwing money around... Thanks!

I believe it's standard. I've had it on the jeep for a couple years. The critical dimensions, it seems to me, are that the D-ring hole is one inch in diameter, and the steel is one inch thick. Probably any bumper with that will fit the clips. I will add that the smittybilt bumper bolts onto the jeep frame precisely where the towbar clips would normally go. And the D-rings are double welded at that location too, so it's really the strongest location for the D-clip-towbar connection.

Statgeek,

I think the XRC bumpers take a 3/4" D-ring which has a 7/8" pin. Is it possible the hole on yours is 7/8" on the d ring tabs instead of 1
