Jeep Cherokee Tow Hooks

Earlier this year, I replaced my 2010 Cadillac SRX toad with a 2022 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. In order to install the BlueOx baseplates, I had to remove the two red tow hooks from the front of the Jeep. I really liked the way they looked so I designed some replacements and 3D printed them. Note that these are decorative only and not intended to be used as a real tow hook. The new hooks slip on and off easily so that I can pull them out when it comes time to tow behind my Vista.

They look great. I have the same vehicle and was thinking of altering the hooks to fit like that but it looked like too much effort. [Mod Edit]

Jeep Cherokee Tow Hooks

I agree - I bought 3D printed tow mirror adapters for my Jeep Gladiator and I know of 100+ other people who did as well. A CYA move would be to add the words "for decorative use only" or something like that.

Thanks for the nice comments from everyone.

Winger2, I used a 1/4" round lock pin to hold them in place. It makes installation and removal very easy. The hole for the lock pin is 1/4" so a regular bolt and nut would work too.

I like them. Where is the hole for the lock pin?

There is a diagonal hole through the body of the cylinder for the lock pin. This is so the lock pin fits into the slots cut into the Blue Ox baseplate. The lock pin is fast, easy, and inexpensive but I'm sure there are other things like a regular 1/4" bolt that would work.

Nice!

I bought a spare set of blue ox pins then went to a welder and had both sets cut in half and reattached Frankenstein style.

No I have the OEM hook attached to a blue ox pin and pull trees trunks around my yard.

Every time I change smoke detector batteries OR clocks apply a film of grease to hooks, pins, tow bars, etc so they slip out when you want them too.
