Jeep Gladiator

Anyone towing a Gladiator? Was more interested in the ride quality compared to a Wrangler Unlimited, was wondering if it is better. Is the wheel base the same as a Unlimited? Thanks

I don't own one but have researched them extensively. We do have a 2020 Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited. The Gladiator's wheelbase is approximately 19" longer than a four door Wrangler's which does supposedly give the Gladiator a better ride. The Gladiator's wheelbase is roughly the same size as a Ford Excursion's.

The nice thing about the Gladiator is it can be towed easily and has a bed for coolers, bicycles, etc. We may still get one in the future, but I decided to hold off and drive my wife's Rubicon for a while to see if it's big enough for me.

Agree, be interested in knowing how this new Gladiator drives and rides compared to the other mid size competition, Colorado, Canyon, Ranger. All of which ride and drive really smooth.

I happen to own a 2019 JL Wrangler Unlimited and a 2020 JT Gladiator. I have used both as a toad.

The Gladiator does have a bit of a smoother ride. Now the Wrangler is a manual and the Gladiator is an automatic. The Gladiator is a bit peppier (if that is a word). But I also feel the Wrangler is a bit more fun to drive... Now for convenience of removing the tops the Gladiator wins hands down! In all of three seconds you can have the top down!

When you are flat towing the JT, are you disconnecting the battery? If you are, how are you powering the brake controller in the toad?

Thanks!

(We have a 2020 JTR that we purchased two weeks ago!)

I have towed a 2108 JL and now towing a 2020 Gladiator. I did not disconnect the battery on either. The batteries are weak on the JT at least mine are and would not run the Blue OX Patriot unit. I had to run a 12 volt line from the motorhome to a plug for the brake. I have since changed to the M&G brake system. As far as the ride I like the Gladiator much better than the JL. More room with the cargo bed.

I was going to buy a Gladiator and did a long test drive. I tried to hit every pothole and broken pavement. I was quite pleased with everything about it. It rides better than my Sierra Crew!
We didn't buy just because when I got back in the Sierra I liked the airy big cabin much better.... The Gladiator is still the coolest truck on the road!
