Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Summit Set Up
We recently had our 2022 4xe Summit towing setup installed. I thought I would share those some fotos of it here. The system is a Roadmaster Sterling All-Terrain tow bar (which we have used for years on other tows), Direct-Connect Baseplates (new to us as we had always used the Crossbar-Style Baseplate before), with a new Roadmaster Tow Defender (we had used the Roadmaster Guardian on prior tows). The braking system is an Airforce One system (we had used a BrakeBuddy Select system on the other tows).
NOTE: Our Jeep manual had a couple steps that we not exactly correct so it might be the same with others depending upon the trim level and options of the 4xe. In general though, what one accomplishes in those steps is the same, (IE: setting the Electric Park Brake on / off, the switch to transfer case 'N' is so fast the light never actually blinks but just stays on indicating it is done, one only presses the start / stop button once [not twice like the manual says] to turn the engine off).

When I see a toad I always think that guy is really tailgating then I see it is a toad. Wow - that looks like a great setup. I really like the rock guard and clean looking vs other set-ups.

can you tell me the model number of the base plate that you used for your Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Summit? I have a Trailhawk so not sure it is the same but I can't find baseplates that work and I am in a bit of a time crunch. thank you

Nice setup...Pretty much did the same on our JLUR: Sterling Tow Bar, AFO brake system, Roadmaster Baseplate and did wiring system for LED lights to prevent battery drain when LED lights come on and wake up the computer. Curious, did your AFO have the brake indicator that sits in the coach, for the toad, and runs off 12 VDC? Must be a new setup from DEMCO.

There is an LED indicator on the dash of the Jeep. Not sure how affective that will be. We were told some AFO units come with the LEDs for the TOAD and some with a unit for inside the motorhome. We are used to a Brake Buddy remote in the motorhome so we shall see. I've not looked into the possibility of adding an 'in motorhome' unit yet but plan to. We had a battery charging feature / wiring added so the battery would not be drained and is charged via the motorhome.

Nice setup.
I like that rock guard, got a part number?
Also, have you had that 4XE over a CAT scale yet?
Curious on it's real world weight.

4700: Fits all ROADMASTER tow bars with quick-disconnect release systems (does not fit direct-connect systems)
4750: Fits Blue Ox tow bars with Blue Ox brackets, Demco tow bars with Demco brackets and all motorhome-mounted ROADMASTER tow bars
Have not weighed it yet. Will definitely be doing that the first chance we get.
