Jeep Wrangler JK: baseplate or tow capable aftermarket bumper?
I got rid of my Jeep TJ and bought a 2013 Jeep Wrangler JK 2 Door, and now have to set it up to tow. I have a complete NSA Ready Brute Tow Bar, cables, etc., so I want to set this JK up for that. What kind of baseplate or Bumper is everyone using? Curry seems to have a good baseplate, but I was really considering going with a new tow capable front bumper so I could add a winch at some point. Opinions and options would be appreciated.

Rockhard bumper is what I went with. Been pleased with the setup.

It is the full width steel version with their adapters to use the Blue Ox Tow bar.
I purchased the version that can accept a winch in case I decide add one. For now I use that area for my towing connections.

I used the Rock Hard for years on a modified ZJ. Couldn't hurt it even when I tried.

I have a JL and used the Rockhard Aluminum bumper that only weighs in 30 pounds.

'14 JKU. First installed a Roadmaster bracket, then a year later went to a Smittybilt XRC Gen2 front and rear bumper. If going with an aftermarket bumper fimd out if the new bumper is rated to for towing behind an RV. I was surprised to find that some are not when I called the manufacturer.

RockHard Aluminum for me. Had it mounted for nearly 3 years now. Worked flawlessly and doesn't add significant weight to an already reasonably heavy Jeep. My toad is an 18 JK. Mike

Also recommend Rock Hard full width aluminum. Very pleased and packing on this was excellent not a mark anywhere

I have a Curry tow plate that's the same as the Rockjock plate. It works just fine and I've used it for about 4 years now.
If I was starting over I'd go with a bumper. The tow plate puts the attachment point too low. The Maximus brackets are even lower. I have to use a drop hitch to keep the tow bar level and I'd rather not use the drop hitch. I guess that's all dependent on the height of the hitch on your motorhome.
Currently in the market for a bumper. I intend to buy a steel bumper and not aluminum.
