Jeep Wrangler with remote start

Before I purchase a Jeep Wrangler for our toad, I have a question...

Most of the used Jeep Sahara models in our market get optioned in with the cold weather package that included a Remote Engine Start.

I will be using the Ready Brute Elite for a tow bar and either LoD or Rock Hard for the bumper.

Would I have any issues purchasing a Jeep with the remote start?
Figure someone would know.

Thanks.
Tom

Not sure why one would think a remote start would cause any issues with towing

Any JK/JKU is easy to tow.... I would be more concerned about condition of Jeep, service history and which engine it has

Thanks

The remote start is also for cooling in the summer. And know it won't matter if you have it. Rockhard is an excellent bumper, I have the aluminum one and really like it, plus you don't need a base plate when using their bumper.

The RH bumpers look like nice quality. Willing to forego the stock bumper for not needing a base plate. The only way I would consider a base plate is if I could afford a new JL Rubicon....but that ainít happening.
Thanks.

Tom,
We have a '15 JKUR with remote start. At present, the only issue I can think of that pertains to the Jeep AND the motorhome, when hooked together is, if the jeep is hooked to the coach, with the pigtail, and you start the jeep before disconnecting the pigtail, that will energize some of the lighting system in the Jeep. And, if you're hooked to the pigtail and motorhome at that time, you will be sending the Jeeps lighting to the coach. Now, for the most part, it's not a big deal. I've done it many times.

All that happens is, the coach lights will light up, no biggie. But, much of this depends on how the Jeep was wired for toad lights. There's all kinds of ways. In the later Jeeps, like ours and what you're considering, there's at least 3 aftermarket lighting harness's available. I and many on here have used the Hopkins 56200 system. It's the cheapest and easiest to install and works absolutely flawless. And, it's very easy to install.

But, I wouldn't be concerned about the remote start. We're both sure as heck glad we negotiated to have that Mopar remote start installed at the dealer, as a final straw for purchase. We use it a lot, especially here in Lake Havasu City AZ in the summer.

I have a 2018 JL Wrangler with remote start. I installed a Roadmaster base plate.
I used a universal tail light wire harness with diodes to protect the Jeep.

I like being able to start it when coming out of stores in warmer weather to kick off the A/C.
I towed it from Florida to Ohio via Red Bay Alabama with no issues.

A super fun vehicle.

While a universal diode system will work, if (or when) you elect to use an auxillary braking system for the Jeep, the Jeep activating its own brake lights will wash-out a turn signal if it happens to be on from the Motorhome. In short, your Jeep will work fine except in the scenario when you have both the turn signal and brakes on - then the turn signal will not function.

Cool Tech claims to have a new kit just for the JL's that is unique insofar that it will not have this problem.

Unless you push that button twice to start the engine, shouldn't be an issue. There is no mention of that feature in the flat towing section of the owner's manual.

Second, and this is my Jeep snob opinion, just get a Sport. Saharas are all stickers and accents but have no real upgrades. Many Sports are optioned with all the same stuff and are often less expensive. And everyone knows that Saharas aren't real Jeeps

Dan, I probably wonít disagree about the value of the Sahara but tell that to someone else (DW) that likes those creature comforts. Ha.
