I have been towing a TJ wrangler for 13 yrs that has the separate bulbs and harness for the rear lights. I am buying a 2016 JK wrangler will I have to do the same kind of setup to use it as a toad or is there a newer method without the separate bulbs?

Hopkins tow vehicle harness for a JK. #56200 Plug and play into the tail light connectors.
Very easy and worked perfectly on our previous JK. $49. on Amazon.
Like Fairway, I installed the Mopar harness in our 2012 JK, then transferred it to my 2016 Sahara JKU this year. I like the Mopar because it totally isolates the Jeep's wiring by using small relays. It's a little pricier but worth it IMHO. Installation isn't too difficult and here's a post I did back in 2015 on the installation. The same procedures applied to the 2016 as the original post. https://www.irv2.com/forums/f85/2012...te-236583.html
