Are you making tight turns? I found that our car moved on the platform during turns that were too tight of radius for the Kaddy wheels. Ours only actually came loose once, possibly caused by catching the ratchet mechanism on a curb when we exited an awkward driveway, but I noticed the movement on the platform a few times.

Fortunately there was no problem with the car when it came loose although we towed it that way for probably 70 mils before discovering it.

Make sure you get the strap to make, at least, a wrap on the drum.

Leave the strap a bit loose and turn the slotted drum until it covers the slot. As it tightens it will cover the first wrap and fill the drum.

This is a steerable dolly. Are you unlocking the wheels.
