Lexus Rx330 lube pump feed back

We are looking at purchasing a lube Pump for the Lexus RX330 so we can flat tow the car. The dealer and manufacture say no. However, third party vendors say yes.
I am looking for feed back on towing an AWD vehicle and more specifically the LUBE PUMPS you can install. Do they work well, safe do you like them and are you happy with your modification.

Any feed back is appreciated

Thanks!

I'm probably wrong but I thought I heard they dropped those from the market.

Hopefully folks that have actual experience with the Toyota/Lexus V-6 drivetrain can chime in. Are you 2WD or 4WD?

Are the 3rd party vendors gonna repair your vehicle if it does "NOT" work. They just want to sell you something . . . That's my feedback.

Yes the RX330 has been replaced with newer models. The RX330 is a AWD. REMCO sells a Lube pump that supposedly allows this AWD to be flat towed. I am just not familiar with these system upgrades/modifications.

I used a Remco transmission pump to tow a Chrysler Minivan for over 50,000 miles. Chrysler told us the same thing. They acted like I was going to deliberate trash their van!
Bottom line, The Remco transmission pump worked well for us.

BTW, that pump survived a crash, and I removed it before the van was hauled off to the scrapyard. It is now living as a diesel fuel pump so I can fuel my tractors in the barn.

K. Duck:

Just a thought. Leaving the RX idling and in neutral does the same thing as a Remco - it circulates the AT Fluid. If you are not going to do extensive towing, that may be your simplest and cheapest answer.

Remco sold the pump business off the last I knew. Did they buy it back?

No Remco never sold the pump business, they sold the driveshaft disconnect business to another company that never made a go of it. Drive Shaft King of Dallas picked up what was left and continued making the disconnect parts. Remco has always had the transmission lube pump part of their business.

I bought the Remco LP BK01-018 for our 2007 Camry SE. Towed the car for 1100 miles without starting the car and no problem. Wanted to see if all was good. Next long trip will probably start it when we stop for the day like most of all tow-able cars need to. I did the install myself. If you are a bit mechanically inclined it is easily do able. I like that there is a monitor inside the coach that tell you if the pump is running or not. Yes the pump is powered from the coach and not the battery on the toad.
