Per this link the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer RS AWD has a curb weight of about 3,300 pounds: https://gmauthority.com/blog/2020/04...el-trim-level/

You know, Toyota pulled the Space shuttle with a Taco - ONCE. Not sure I'd want to buy that one off the used lot.

By the way, my 1999 Beaver, 330HP CAT, 860 Ft lbs of torque. HP is about overcoming drag, torque is getting and keeping the load moving. More HP, a little more than TWICE the torque of the Ford, 26,000 lb GVWR - a little more than twice the GVWR. You have a decimal point in the wrong place if you think "order of magnitude".

That 10 speed auto is an "emissions transmission". All it's doing is keeping the engine in a tight range to control the tailpipe. It does that at the expense of complexity and less rugged parts - because to get 10 in the space of 5 you have to give up width in the gears, which is a big part of handling torque.

And that 310 HP comes in at - wait for it - 5000rpm. Bring the earplugs and the ralleye comms system to talk to the passenger.

In 5 years there's going to be all kinds of clapped out poor quality bad ideas on the used market.
Let’s not drag the OPs thread off track with a debate they did not ask for.

In new vehicles, the Ford Escape and Chevy Equinox are popular toads with AWD in the middle 3,000lb range. The Subaru Crosstrek is occasionally seen being towed, though Subaru doesn’t really endorse doing so. But it must be a manual transmission, which limits you to entry level trim. I think one can get their Eyesight system on it, but it’s been a few years since I looked into it.

Thanks for getting thing back on track

I do recall that Subaru Eyesight only works with automatics, that does makes sense.

That’s pretty amazing specs. I assume only the AWD models are towable, as the others have CVT. I’ll look forward to hearing more about this towing option!!

I'd feel better if that weight came from Chevy but they just show TBD on their spec page.

We just purchased and set up for tow a 2021 Escape Titanium Hybrid AWD. According to the Ford website: 3,668 lbs, 181.3".

I don't know the specifics of the other trim levels, but the Titanium has all of the latest safety and driver assistance features.

A challenge was finding a dealer that had one in stock - we had to pay full MSRP, and some dealers were asking for MSRP + $2,000.

Looking for something with all the latest driver safety aids.

Any recommendations?

Thanks,
Are you getting rid of the Latitude 37G?

We are indeed, looking at getting something in the 25ft range.

I would recommend the 2014 Honda CRV AWD at about 3500 lbs.
