Volkswagon rabbit pickup form the early 80s. Curb weight 2174 lbs. Don't have to worry much about maintenance - there's nothing to break, and they were some of the most reliable vehicles on the planet. Restore it once and you'll be done with it. Besides, how many driving miles do you put on a TOAD anyway?
Along those same lines a Type 181 (the Thing) is almost a pickup, and weighs just 2006 lb. Type II transporters are in the 2500 lb range.
