Locking a 2023 Gladiator for flat towing
I have moved up from a. 2016 Wrangler to a 2023 Gladiator. My understanding is that if I use the key fob to lock it when flat towing, the alarm will go off thinking it is being stolen. Any of you flat tow a gladiator and can tell me the locking sequence? TIA

Wouldn't following the instructions in the owners manual be better then advice from a fourm ?

Not the case with my 2020 Gladiator and I have heard nothing of this in the Jeep forums. I see not reason for Jeep to do this either. I lock mine with the fob and keep it in the motorhome with me.

Why lock it at all? Who's going to break into it while being towed down the road at 50-60 MPH?

Push the door lock on the door and shut it...?
Unlock it with the fob when you get to your destination.
I hope you installed something to charge your batteries while you are towing. If not, just so you know replacing both batteries at the dealership is around $700 if you end up draining them.
I might know a thing or two (or three) about Gladiators.....

Thanks. I’ll test tow it today around the block to check but have spoke to other owners who had alarm issues. Also to the person asking ‘why lock’ they must not tow through any major cities or watch the news.

2021 JLUR and I use the key fob to lock. Make sure you let the jeep "go to sleep" before taking off. I think it's 5 minutes. Otherwise the jeep will wake up every time the brake is applied and you'll have a drained battery.

Lock the doors manually from the drivers door and do NOT use the key fob.

Does the Gladiator need power when towed for something other than a brake system?

Under 4 or 5 hours and I doubt you'd drain your battery towing, but I did install the Cooltech wiring harness. But not before I'd towed it several times for 8+ hours. I do have LED taillights.

Get the deluxe version and it'll charge your toad while you tow it. I also have 200 watts of solar on my Gladiator for the fridge and dual battery system.
I know a little about Wranglers and Gladiators too. Been towing Jeeps for 19 years.

Hey wild toad - so Can I tow a 2023 gladiator without ignition activated. My rig will tow 20,000 pounds I’m not gonna use a break buddy this time for 5500lb my only concern is the wheels, will steering be free to move left to right as I make my turns
