Looking to upgrade my TOAD

Have been using my little Fiat 500 Pop as my tow car with all four wheels down. Simply lock it into the the Blue Ox, release the parking brake, place car in neutral (it is manual transmission) and GO......O' by the way, steering wheel doesn't lock so it doesn't need the keys in the ignition. Great car by the way but its starting to get plus 70k miles and sooner than later will need replaced.

Are there other cars out there which are just as easy to setup? I need small, good gas mileage, room for groceries, camping supplies, etc.

I would suggest you look at the motorhome magazine towable list for a place to start. You can search by year showing all models that are towable for that year.

I have a new Chevy Spark and the towing procedure for it is exactly what you described except that the battery needs to be disconnected. I’ve towed mine several thousand miles over the last month and Zero problems to report

I can use a key to unlock the door. No ignition lock

Can I ask how you liked the Fiat 500 Pop overall, I have been thinking about picking one up to use for TOAD duty as a cheap TOAD vs using my wife's Jeep Cherokee Overland ediiton

Love our Mini

We are using a Mini Cooper S with standard transmission. The procedure for hooking the car up is the same as your fiat and it also doesn't have a locking steering wheel. Mini says don't tow it but many do and I have never heard of a problem. Roadmaster and Blue Ox make base plates so it can't be all wrong.

I have owned the Fiat Pop since new back in 2012...Can't say enough about how good this car has been. Replaced tires twice, changed oil and lub as recommended and never had a maintenance problem.

So easy to tow and its actually FUN to drive around town or countryside..

You can't go wrong
