M&G Braking System Question
I did alot of research before posting, including google, this forum, and the M&G website. I think I have my answer but I am not totally sure.
Basically do I have to go with the 2.0 system that uses the cable attached to the brake or can I go with their original system? I have a Class C RV with a Ford E-350 front end. There is something about air brakes versus hydraulic. One system can use the original braking system and one can only use the 2.0. I think.
I am asking because I would rather not have the 2.0 because the cable pulls on the brakes which will activate the brake lights. And override the turn signal. With the other system I can install the wiring harness and the brakes and turn lights will activate based on the RV.
Thx!

Official responce from M&G:
The RV has nothing to do with 2.0 or Original. Only the towed vehicle determines which one. If you have 2018 JK, the Original is used.

If you have a Class C with Hydraulic Brakes. How are you going to actuate the M&G system as it requires an air source from the coach?

That is a great question. I guess they install something in the rv to pressurize the dingy? I have no clue. I am gunna go by whet M & G said I guess. See what happens.

Im almost certain (99 44/100%) the M&G original requires a DP with air brakes. Id call them back B4 u buy something that wont work.

Well my plan is to drive the rv and the Jeep there and have them install the system. No way could I do it. I just wanted to make sure I could get the original system and not the 2.0

I have no direct knowledge, but looks like the M&G system requires a “power pack” be installed on a coach with hydraulic brakes to convert the hydraulic brake pressure to proportional air pressure to operate the Standard or 2.0 M&G brake in the toad. The power pack has an air compressor, accumulator tank, and metering valve that is installed on the coach frame. I found one dealer selling the power pack for $699.

Yea that makes sense since the email from M&G said it didn't matter about the RV, only the dingy (toad).
Thx for yalls help!
Mark
Will let yall know how the install goes.
