Master tow

I have lost many tilt pins and “R” clip thinking someone was stealing them. I found out that the “R”pin somehow falls out and the pin falls out. Anyone have this problem or just me . Thanks

Instead of using the r-clips go to the hardware store and find an appropriate sized locking clip.

I had that problem a couple of times years ago. Now I have an R pin that requires leverage using piers to get off. Maybe it is all the extra hitch pins I have all over the MH.

We used a main pin with a red handle like this in the picture that we bought on Amazon.
Then instead of the "R" clip to hold the red handle pin in, we bought one that secures and clips closed like shown in the other post that looks like a "D".
Then I connected the the "D" with a length of wire and crimps to the red handle so I would never loose it. Sorry I don't have a picture we sold our Master Tow many years ago.

Hope this helps... Good luck!

I used a master tow dolly for 10 years and never lost a pin. Curious as to why yours are falling out. One thought - what are you towing and does the steering wheel lock? I towed a Cadillac XT5 FWD and the front tires would "wobble" back and forth slightly. This caused such a shake that it destroyed the lights on the dolly. Stopped at a master tow dealer and the guy said if you dont have a locking steering wheel you need to tie it down before towing. Never thought of it but never had a problem after that.

Thank you for all info. I do strap the steering wheel. The pins I have don’t have a hole for the clip. Wll try to drill a hole in one to see if that helps

These are the pins that come with the Roadmaster base plates. The Roadmaster version has a cable attached. You push it through the tow bar to base plate pin and flip it down to lock. I've never lost a pin like this. Plus it's easy to operate.

I have a 2022 Master Tow dolly. Have never lost a clip. My pin came with a hole drilled. Does your pin at least have a recessed bevel area for the clip to rest in? Did you buy it used? Maybe previous owner lost the original?
