Don't tie down the steering.

With the limited turning the tire plate has, you will want the roads wheels to turn some.

They straighten out right away so nothing to worry about.

Master Tow says the car steering should be disabled (wheels don't turn); let the dolly swivel plates do the work. The reason the swivel is limited is to prevent the car from turning on the platform enough to strike the dolly fenders.

Always load the vehicle-in-tow facing forward. (Making sure steering wheel is immobilized by lockingignition switch or tying off steering wheel to seat frame or suitable point.)

It bent the lock pin on my Kia Soul. Removed the pin and towed it for 2 more years.

I have towed the Soul, a Jeep Renegade, and now a Honda Ridgeline. No steering locks on the last 2 vehicles and no wrapping anything on the steering wheels.

No dents in the side of any of the cars either. I don't think I can turn sharp enough to make it hit, unless I back up, and that's a no-no in a tight turn.

Here's what I did . Left the steering wheel unlocked and wrapped seat belt bottom off steering not super tight just snug ..worked perfect . We have ice and snow on roads here and all secondary roads.. so uneven roads but worked perfect the only issue was Buick Park avenue has a pretty low air dam in front so had to block it 3-4 inches before getting on ramp . Dolly's are complicated once tow a rig it all make sense . Do they keep the ball top height 18-20 bottom of ball 14 inch so it keeps some tongue weight on the towing rig?
Just wondering it towed so easy 3850 lb car
Master tow 77T with electric brakes . Without brakes I don't think I would be towing on secondary icy snowy roads.

Here hitch was at 22 inch's in picture top of ball its suppose to be 18-20 inch . We thought
The Yukon xl would go down with tongue weight and because it has HD towing it stayed at 21 3/4 . So we ended up lowering it 2 1/2 inches . To 19 1/2 inch's to top of the ball . Towing it was like perfect trailed perfect you could go fast as you wanted 3800 lb car .. the car I was dealing with didntb runn so I had to make a winch attachment to pull car on .
