Maverick and Roadmaster Baseplate
I talked with the local Ford dealer and was told the Roadmaster baseplate could void the powertrain warranty because of cutting out the adjustable fins in the lower radiator. He said that would affect proper cooling and over time could damage the drivetrain. Has anyone been told this about their Ford Maverick and the Roadmaster baseplate?
The alternative would be the Blue Ox, which doesn't affect the fins but you have to cut holes in the lower bumper.

The other option is the Demco baseplate.
It has standard spacing for the adaptors to the tow bar and doesn't require chopping out the louvers.
I have the BluOx baseplate and a Etrailer towbar. It has long arms and I haven't had any damage with the wide spaced adaptors, that others have claimed to have.

We haven't purchased it yet. I'm just doing the research and the more I research the towing aspect of a Maverick the less I like it. I see your other post about not coming out of towing mode and having to disconnect the battery. Are there any other problems with towing I should know?
We are towing a Jeep Rubicon with a Rockhard bumper and a Nighthawk towbar is our current setup. I starting to think the advantages of the Maverick is NOT worth it.

Been towing my 2024 Maverick for 1800 miles over the last month (1 week left on vacation). Easiest set up for towing and the only “problem” I’ve had was forgetting to turn on the Demco Stay N Play braking system. I use tow/haul mode all the time which downshifts the engine when breaking and I rarely brake hard enough for the Maverick brakes to kick in. Never had a problem going into or out of neutral tow mode.
I have a Roadmaster baseplate and the dealer hasn’t mentioned anything about a potential warranty issue.

I got the Roadmaster baseplate for my new to me 2023 Mav. I really did not like the way Blue Ox did theirs, seemed structurally inferior.
I have no comments from the dealer as I have not discussed the shutter mods real effect. I’ve been towing this vehicle for the last 3 months and so far it’s been as expected.
Getting in and out of tow mode is a breeze, no need to disconnect the battery. I did add a charge line from the motorhome to the toad’s battery and a battery monitor to insure it doesn’t drain while in tow.
It’s my 5th toad in 8 years, so far the easiest one to setup behind the mh.
Aux braking by AirForce1, blue ox tow bar, Roadmaster baseplate, Ancel BM200 battery monitor, tst tpms.
My previous toad was a 2021 Buick Encore GX awd, towed it from east to west coast without any issues. Good comfort in a small package.

When it acts up, coming out of Neutral Tow, it's drivable, you just need to disconnect the battery to reset it before you tow again. All of that was before the recall for computer updates, hasn't happened this summer with 2 trips. I have a cheap battery terminal disconnect on the battery under the rear seat. Takes a few seconds to access.
The 2 best parts are that the Maverick gets 40 MPG and it's not a Jeep.

There were a couple of posts about Maverick having a death wobble a while back. Search this forum for Maverick.

I had one death wobble occurrence while making a sharp right turn, in a construction zone, over rough pavement.
Since then, I replaced the adaptors between the towbar and baseplate. The holes were worn out and pretty loose.
Been to Ohio from central NY and back with no more wobble. I was watching at every turn.
