Mini Cooper Clearance
We are looking to change our Toad to a Mini Cooper. How is the ground clearance? Have you ever had a problem with the Mini or the hitch being too low?

We have the same concern with towing our Lincoln MKZ. Some CG's have large pot-holes that could cause damage. I'll be following your thread.

How can the ground clearance of an empty Mini being towed be more of an issue than a Mini being driven with TWO 200+ pound people in it?
I have towed 3, lower than a Mini, Miatas more than 70,000 miles and never had a problem or even a concern.
This silver Miata is lowered more than 1" below stock and I have towed it more than 20,000 miles and have never scraped anything.
Enjoy your Mini and don't worry about it.

Like Healeyman I too pulled a Miata for several years and around the country with no clearance problems.
My towbar wasn't level as the Miata was pretty low but it never created a problem.

Doing good...got rid of the Miata after open heart surgery...too hard to get in and out of. Still hang out with some of the Miata club members. And you?

Doing well. Still driving and pulling the 2012 Miata. Just had a left total knee replacement and it was about 6 weeks before I could bend enough to get my left foot in.
I just had a complete, head to toe, physical this AM and seem to be in excellent shape, but waitin' for the bloodwork to confirm.
Bummer on your heart stuff, but keep your chin up.

I have not had problem or concern towing my 2006 Mini.

Our concern is the pitch created by low or high tide on ferries. We dragged the hitch last week between a steep drive way and roadway so that too is a
concern as we were towing an Envoy 2006.

We have towed a 2012 Mini Cooper from the west coast to Georgia and back, then to Boston and Quebec and back to the west coast with no problems. In total, about 20,000 miles with not even knowing it was behind us.
