Hi, just want to know what years mini cooper doesn't need to have the key in the ignition to unlock the steering wheel ?
I think of 2010 but not sure.

We tow a 2008 clubman s 6speed,I believe that is the first year the steering doesn't lock.

My 2006 does need key to unlock

Same as Displaced2 - mine's also an 06.

I found the info about the steering look, starting on 2007 steering doesn't look with the key out except for convertible (that's what i'm looking at) its start on 2009 wich will probably be to expensive for a second car just for toad. Now i would like to know from guys that needs to keep the key in the ignition; 1-Is it draining the battery keeper key in ignition ? 2-Can you lock the car with another keyfob ? 3-Are you remouving a fuse to protect battery from draining ?
