Yes - and based on calls with RoadMaster, they have their design in with engineering undergoing final tests for approval; meaning, they hope to have a final decision about if it's technically feasible and will go into production by the end of this week.
Great news overall - my own view is that the 2020 Escape Hybrid would make a great toad!

We've been eyeing the new Hybrid Escape to replace my wife's 2008. We're going to wait and probably go with 2021 just to give them a year to work out the bugs.
2nd option would be an Edge.

Good decision as the 2020 Escape Titanium non-hybrid is not flat towable nor can it be towed on a dolly if it is AWD.
I don’t see a spare tire option when building a hybrid Escape on ford web site. I plan to drive it again and will check. But the last one I saw had battery in the middle of the spare tire storage area and no spare just compressor and can of fix a flat.
My first test drive was not impressive. It lacked any pep. I am spoiled by our 2014 escapes 2.0 liter turbo. I may wait for the plug in Escape. That may have more acceleration. I do see incentives raising as Toyota and Honda are bringing out new hybrids with much higher HP. However, they are not towable.

I already knew that. I just wanted my wife to compare the size and interior comfort to the Edge. If she had liked it more, we would have waited for an AWD hybrid.

Just so you know - i confirmed that it does come with a spare tire, at least the Titanium; i saw the battery thing you mention in one version - but again, I asked about and was shown, the spare tire in the back of the 2020 Ford Escape Titanium Hybrid was there......
As for pep - everyone has their preferences; i found it to be quite ok - and I'm still driving my F150 with the 3.0L EcoBoost (for just a little while longer...)...

For those who think the interior is "too cheap", may want to wait until 2021 as it looks like Ford is following the Fusion/MKZ example and taking the two hybrid powertrains over to the Lincoln Corsair. Independent sites, such as Edmunds, list it as a 2021 model and only discuss the plug-in versions - which is a monster, multiple electric engines and one each dedicated to the front and rear drive trains, AWD only obviously. The current 2020 Lincoln website list all 4 engines (2.0L and 2.3L turbos offered now and the the regular hybrid plus the plug-in hybrid), not under "Performance" which only discussed the 2 turbos, but at the last topic "Plug into Luxury" Limited detail on specs - Lincoln omitting the hybrids altogether, but comparing estimated base weight of the 2.0L Ford @ 3414FWD/3566AWD to the 2.0L Lincoln 3691FWD/3852AWD, so looks like there is a 250lb weight premium for that improved "non-cheap" interior. Also, Ford only shows the Plug-in hybrid (3884lbs) as FWD only, which with the addition electric motor in the Lincoln powering the rear, it may impact it's 4 down capability. Neither hybrid in discussed in the 2020 Corsair manual, so only time will tell their official 4 down capabilities.
Those weights won't impact Class a or gas Class c but could be critical for Sprinter based Class C. For comparison, and probably setting the upper limit for Sprinters, the 2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk is 4250lbs with Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Ford Edge even greater pushing the 5000lb hitch limit and blowing weight limit carrying capacity if using a Sprinter.

I checked and I’m pretty sure that there were no Corsair models that were flat towable.
We purchased our Lincoln MKX to be our toad because it was a nice everyday driver, a little bit of a luxury interior and easily flat towable. It’s been a good choice.
So, I try to keep up with newer model Lincolns and it varies on engine quiet a bit.
When I got my MKX I had to not only be careful of the engine choice but certain options. At the time no one made a tow bar for any MKX optioned with Adaptive Cruise Control. I don’t know if that’s a thing to be aware of any more.

He is validly assuming that the Hybrid Corsair will be towable just like the Hybrid Escape.

2020 Ford Escape Hybrid with Blue Ox base plate.
Mine car was the one used to make the pattern for the production of more base plates.
Now to see if the SMI Air Force One can be added.

Electrical connector is way off to the side but should work fine for us.

Interesting. Looks like the designed it to use the outer vent opening, leaving the sensors on the Titanium model untouched (SE model doesn't have the sensors standard). The electrical is well out and probably usable, but for cosmetic reasons wish had more hidden rather than the upper surface, disrupting the visual flow.
