Oops…read a previous message that explained why.

When I worked with them in 2020 on that problem (they were very helpful) I got the impression that it's not their design; that it's designed and produced by a company in China. That's not a bad thing in itself but it may explain why, three years later, RVi has not revised the product to correct that deficiency.
They initially blamed the problem on the later Equinox models having an AGM battery that has a higher inrush charging current. So they put a note on the website that it was not to be used on cars with AGM batteries.
Then they removed that note and added a note that for a 2019 and later Equinox you had to remove the fuse for the rear windshield wiper. Some people reported they tried that and it did not help.
That suggestion made zero sense to me because the windshield wiper motor would have to be generating a lot of heat all the time and it's stone cold. I suspect they got hold of a 2019 Equinox and started pulling fuses and they found one that disabled something, probably part of the Body Control Module (BCM).
Then they changed the note on the website to say to not use the RVi Towed Battery Charger on 2019 and later Equinox vehicles.
That note also made zero sense to me because Chevy's redesigned electrical system for the Equinox began with the 2018 model year, not the 2019 model year.
I dunno. But I do know I jumped the thing out and I have not had a battery problem in three years. RVi gave me a full refund for the purchase despite being well past their return policy date. They do treat their customers right, from my limited experience.
FWIW,
