New Ready Brute Elite - Installation advice

I currently have a Brake Buddy Classic and, rather than upgrade in the BB line, I have made a clean break (pun intended) and ordered the Ready Brute Elite after reading several positive comments about it on this forum. Any installation issues you can alert me to before it arrives would be very much appreciated.

I really can't think of anything major regarding mine, and it was only 4 months ago. Pretty painless. Most of your time spent will be properly routing the cables from the bumper to the brake. Give yourself a day so you can take your time. I haven't yet installed the brake indicator light and the cable has gotten a bit damaged from dragging, but I'm not sure if I will ever do it. Also, be careful if you need to use a drop. I had to use a 2" drop from my bounder to my wrangler and that thing loves to bottom out when I go into gas stations and other uneven parking lots. If you can, invest in one of those coiled brake light connectors. I've already gone through one. Other than that, I cant really think of anything else! Overall I'm very satisfied with the purchase. We've put on probably 7-8k miles by now with no issues (knock on wood!).

There were no issues that I can think of. The instructions were clear. I also didn't install the brake indicator light. I might someday but have found no need so far.

I had zero issues mounting my set up. The only thing I did is mount a light on the top of my Xterra to see when my toad is actually braking, not just when the ready brake is activated. I was able to make a 4 pin connector cable and connect it to the trailer connector in the rear. The brakes light up on the toad with the key installed or not so its a perfect toad brake indicator when towing.

I have the Ready Brake Elite set up and am actually going in the opposite direction this year. I'm keeping the tow bar, but am changing from the surge brake cable to the Brake Buddy Vantage Select for braking. To answer your question, the installation from front bumper to brake pedal is not difficult and I am an average Joe. After using it for 3 years, I did not like the way the surge brake worked an am hoping for more even braking with the Brake Buddy. I originally purchased the Ready Brake Elite because of the overwhelming positive comments, and have been happy overall, but want to try this set up this year. If it doesn't work as well, I can alway go back to the cable...

Best tip I can give is read the directions and then read them again, know what parts go where. It took about two hours start to finish for two of us, a second hand helps but it can be done without.
