You knew the answer before you asked.

To those that say; "go ahead", keep their contact info. If something bad happens, Id bet none of them will stand by you in court with their checkbook.

LOL, that's why I said "I'd do it..." instead of "you'll be okay"

A tough question. A number of years ago I had a Blue Ox Patriot piece of junk go out just as I hit eastern Montana on the way to Alaska for the summer. THIRD time it failed and I wasn't going to try for 4. I drove the remainder of the trip to Alaska without a brake in a heavily loaded Colorado pickup. Close to 3000 miles. It can be done, but should you?

Just be real careful for the first 25 miles. Everyone knows most accidents happen in less than 25 miles from home!

Thanks for all the feedback. I decided to just bite the bullet and crawl under the rig and install the coach AFO components myself, rather than waiting on the shop to do it next week. It's not a difficult job - you just have to slide around on your back in tight quarters with the coach lowered. I ramped/blocked up the rear wheels about 4" to give myself some extra clearance.

I feel better about having the brakes working on the toad. I could have probably towed without it, but just didn't want to risk it. I didn't want to have to hear myself saying "I knew better than to do that!" if something were to happen.

Now you don't have to worry,
although I wouldn't have anyway
You'd be surprised how well the coach brakes with the engine brake on will bring down your combination from speed !

Has anyone really tested their maximum braking in the coach yet ? I gave it a HARD test, but far from maximum and it stunned me how fast it slowed...

Mine got tested real good. Foot, engine, and aux brakes.
Did not hit the girl on the bicycle! Toad brakes. I'm not in jail.
Excessive speed would have been deadly.
