Older Blue Ox and Baseplates

I have been given an older (I believe) Blue Ox tow bar. My question is, will the tow bar be compatible with the base plates that I need for my 2004 Jeep Liberty? I am reluctant to order the base plates until I am certain that the tow bar will work with the base plates. Thanks in advance.

I say yes. I have 2 blue ox tow bars. 1 old and 1 new heavy duty. They both fit both of my tow cars. A Pontiac Sunfire convertible and a Chevy Silverado pickup. Call Blue-Ox to confirm when ordering your Base.

All blue ox tow bars should be compatable with blue ox base plates. Get the model off the tow bar and call blue ox. Our blue ox uses a heavy pin system from the base plate and a three finger end on the tow bar. Look at the blue ox web site, under products, flat towing. pictures of the baseplate pins and a tow bar.

Connection dimensions on the base plate all the same. Will work with any Blueox tow bar.
If you bought the tow bar used I recommend doing a good inspection and service before putting it into service. YouTube has a plethora of clips on this subject by Blue Ox and others.

Bronk there is a Blue Ox base plate for sale on Hitch Trader for $250 just make sure all bolts and instructions are included and use threadloc and torque all bolts. If you are going to the FMCA Rally in Perry GA this spring Blue Ox will be there and will service your tow bar for around $25.
