Older Little 4x4 Stick Pickups Easy Toads?

Would like a small, extended cab(for pup), little pickup (for pedal trike(s)) and hoping to find an good old 4x4, stick Ranger, Frontier, Tacoma, etc that would be easy to tow 4 down without ad ons other than the bar, or are their issues to watch for? Have SoWind 32 WH22 w/8.1 & 5K hitch & curr pulls old 3,400# Buick on dolly just fine. Tks, R

If you go to Motorhome Magazine and click on dingy towing, you can look up thos pick ups that are towable four wheels down. I towe my Ranger 5 speed all the time 4 down with no problems, but it's not a 4X4.

Watch some of the distinctions carefully. The old ranger 4x4 P/U's could only be towed if they had an automatic transmission OR a manual transfer case. Manual transmission and the push-button transfer case control was not towable.

Thank you for the information so far. Guess its a bit more complicated than I thought with various makes, models, years, xmsn, &/or xfer case combinations. Hopefully likely candidates I find will still have their owners manuals :-) or be covered in the towables listings. Rick
