On the hunt for used toad, help.

Big fan of Honda, but keeping all options open.
Must be flat towable.

2014 or earlier Honda CR-V. Honda Element from the same years, if you can find one. Flat towable, base plates available from Amazon, "snap and go" rear brake/turn signals/lights solutions -- easy to get ready for towing and great cars for running around when leaving the campsite. Also, parts are abundant if needed, but these Hondas are super reliable with their bulletproof 4 cylinder engines.
Good luck and maybe I'll see you down the road.

There was a recent post by a member wondering where to sell a Honda TOAD. Recommendation was to list it in classified section here... not sure if it has been posted.
Try a search. And scan through classifieds.

For the weight conscious the Honda Fit (pre-CRV or manual trans) makes a great toad, we've used ours for two years with no issues whatsoever and lots of room.

One of the top toads I’ve noticed more lately , besides Jeeps of all types , are Chevy equinox SUV’s both awd and fwd They are 4 down towable and they are plentiful and reasonable in the used market.

Kia Soul (base model w/ standard transmission). Had one that we pulled behind a couple of class C's and a gas class A. Light weight, lots of used ones available and surprising amount of interior room.
First one that I bought was new, and just bought a year old used one to pull behind class A that I am going to purchase. Easy to mount a Roadmaster base plate.

I've been towing Jeep Grand Cherokee's for years. You can tow an automatic trans (only Quadra Trac II or Quadra Drive II) at any speed with no need to pop fuses, stop and run the engine, etc.

There's a ton of GC's out there with a bunch of reliable engines. Plus you can off road with them at your destination!

Now add a fuse with a switch so you can pop the fuse with the press of a button. If you get the right switch it fits in the spare switch location to the left of the steering wheel and looks OEM.

I added a charge line and don't bother pulling fuse. EZ to do when you are doing wiring.
I put a resettable circuit breaker in mine. Easier than replacing fuses if/when needed. I would not recommend an auto reset breaker as I've seen others report a road fire caused by a resetting breaker when a short developed.
