Option to pull behind RV

We have an E-450 Phoenix Cruiser with 5000lb tow capacity. Looking for tow options. I created a poll with current options. Please enter any poll comments here. Prefer convertible so require trailer or dolly.

Thanks for your input.

if $$$ not an issue I would get the trailer, if only because you would have half a chance to back it into campsite or anywhere you need to.

Why does a convertible require either a dolly or trailer?

I pulled a 1991 Miata 4 down all around the country. What year is your Miata and is it automatic or stick?

Store : Remco

Remco will tell you if you can tow 4 down.

Do you mean you prefer an Automatic?

I have FLAT towed 3 Manual Miatas over 75,000 miles. No trailer needed.

We require an automatic car. That is reason for trailer or dolly. Miatas are late model 2016-2018 that we are considering. Same years for Mini Cooper. Mini Cooper requires dolly because it is heavier and would require larger trailer, which we do not want to do because it would be too close to 5000 lb limit.

Remco says a 2016 Miata needs a trailer. I don't know how RVing you have done but using a trailer to tow a car is a pain.

I don't think your Phoenix Cruiser is limited to tow 5000lb, just the hitch they installed on it. the hitch can be upgraded. I have a Class C e-450 and my hitch is rated for 7500lb.

there is a couple of advantages to trailering. no wear and tear on the car, nothing spinning. you can back a trailer up, even around a curve.

Since you're going auto trans requiring either dolly or light trailer, I'd base my decision solely on which car I like better...
