Question Our 2004 Jeep Wrangler TJ Came with the Base Plate! Now What???

Our new to us, 2004 Jeep Wrangler TJ came with a Roadmaster 1424-1 base plate . HOWEVER, the issue is there are no parts for the MH. The two receivers under the tubular front bumper are square (approx. 1.25" by 1.25") It seems the Roadmaster 1424-1 might be obsolete. Is there an adapter to make the square receivers work with newer models?

https://www.roadmasterinc.com/pdfinst/1424-1.pdf Here is a picture of the schematics for the base plate. Missing everything coming from the MH.

What tow bar are you using to connect to the baseplate?

Sir, I understand the question-but there are questions you will need to answer. I maybe can help you. If you know how to PM, send me a phone number I can talk with you. I will help as much a I can.

BTW, I live in Pahrump Nevada.

Oh, my apologies. Yeah, I misunderstood what you are describing.

I was going to come back and ask if you're looking for replacement arms. The Roadmaster 1424-1 isn't obsolete as far as I know and replacement arms can be ordered. Here's the order form ...go HERE

But you must be asking something else other than wanting the arms but if you do, as you can see, the arm part numbers are C-000478 for the left/driver's side and C-000479 for the right/passenger side or 13 and 14 on the parts diagram. You can also call Roadmaster up here in the Pacific Northwest if you do need any baseplate part or have questions about the brackets. They used to have very good customer service but I haven't called them or dropped in to see them recently.

But if Bangorbob can help you privately, that's great. I didn't catch that both of you are now in Pahrump as we lived there for about 6 years quite a few years ago. So we all may have been there at one time for all we know.

I thought it might be easier to help over the phone vs trying to explain in writing. I went through the same with my 06 wrangler.
BTW, where in Pahrump did you live, meaning what part of town?

The good news is that you know the model of the baseplate. I would call etrailer. They are the proverbial 900 pound gorilla of all things "toading". I've delt with them on several occasions.

Or you could simply remove what you now have and instead of paying premium for parts, by a complete new kit where it usually is less expensive.
