Penetrating Firewall 2012 Equinox

I am going to (try) and install the RVi2 in my 2012 4 Cylinder Equinox and I have to penetrate the firewall. I looked and looked and could not see anywhere.

I know there has to be a way but I'll be darned if I can find it. I could use some help (pictures would rock)

Thanks in advance LeeB

In the mean time I'll keep looking..

At about 5:15 on this video of the Stay-IN-Play install in a 2013 Equinox you'll see where they went through the firewall. I didn't find a 2012 Equinox video on a quick search.

HTH,

Ray

Lee,

RVI3 owner here... I ran into the same problem when running the breakaway wire for my Chevy Silverado... I gave up going through the firewall, instead, ran the wire through the driver side fender from the engine compartment. From there I ran the wire through the rubber boot where all the door wiring is fed into the passenger compartment. I just cut a small slit in the base of the boot where it attaches to the body.

Also, not sure if you're aware, but RVI has just introduced a wireless version of the breakaway switch. Not sure if it would work on the RVI2 or not...
