The list referenced in the original post IS for flat-towed vehicles.

Dolly towing can be done on any front-wheel drive car where the drive wheels will not be in contact with the road while underway.

Dinghy towing refers to flat towing and dolly towing is front wheels on a dolly.

FYI: Dingy means darkened with smoke and grime; dirty or discolored so I guess the TOAD could be called a dingy.

Outofmyway, thanks for sharing this. Must have taken a while and your sharing it is really appreciated. I am looking for a 4 down toad now as our dolly trailer and a catastrophic failure and instead of replacing it we have decided to go 4 down, so this will help us in the search for our first.

An "unofficial list" of flat towable vehicles

I've seen the manufacturer's approved lists from various sources. I would love to see a list of the "other" vehicles that are out there being towed without issues. And maybe what is require each time to prep.

Just a heads up to ALWAYS check the Owner’s Manual for any Toad you’re thinking of purchasing. For example, the towing guide in the download shows the 2012 Ford Escape as eligible for flat towing. The magazine later printed a retraction based on new information from Ford. Apparently any 2012 Escapes manufactured before the end of February 2012 are eligible, but those manufactured after February 27, 2012 were not.

2016 Equinox AWD LTZ toad

HI, hope I am not late to the party. Wife has a 2016 Equinox AWD LTZ 6 speed automatic trans. I bought the roadmaster frame kit, I installed it.
Added a 20 amp resetable circuit breaker, mounted under hood on air filter box(this disengages the #16 ABS fuse in the under hood fuse box). Used 14 gauge wire. Remove the 20 amp fuse, used female spade terminals. Press the red button to trip the breaker, flip the red flag lever to reset.
Put in a remote fuse holder for fuse #32 DLIS in the passenger compartment right side footwell on the right side of the console. This keeps the battery from going dead while towing. No "death wobble". Last year I would just remove the fuse. This winter I will install a remote rocker switch.
Also installed the Roadmaster InvisiBrake system. All pics attached.
I am a retired car/truck mechanic, Roadmaster frame kit may be a bit challenging for a novice but I feel still doable. Many install vids. The wiring is pretty straight forward.
Any questions, please contact me.
