Problems with my Jeep 2017 trailhawk

My Jeep tows fine. Jeep added the appropriate harness to prevent death wobble. I have a tow battery charger to help keep the battery stay charged. My problem is driving the Jeep. Usually at slow speeds the D for drive starts flashing. When this happens the transmission has shifted into neutral. I must come to a complete stop, and shift the transmission into park, then pull it back down to drive. Then the D is no longer flashing, and I am good to go, until the next time it starts flashing.

The Jeep dealer has worked on it numerous times replacing the gear shift harness, and replacing the TCM transmission control module. It still has the same problem.

Have any of you had the same issue and found a solution? Thanks for your help, all the best, Tim

So you're not seeing any codes or messages on the dash display? My '17 Overland has done that twice in the past year and I suspect the pedal position sensor, but I haven't tried replacing it yet.

I had a previous issue where i would get a "ping" along with a "Service Shifter" message on the display. All the LEDs on the shift bezel would light up, but drivability wasn't affected. Replacing the shift bezel and cable with updated parts fixed that.

The pedal position sensor or TPS should be fairly inexpensive and probably a DIY project if you don't have problems getting down in the floorboards.
