Just curious - what kind of CG would allow an 80 - 90 foot rig????

Been there and checked that out. The over length would have to be a contributing factor in the accident for it increase my liability. About the only way that could happen would be if I did not clear crossing a road and someone hit the last 10 feet of the trailer. That's assuming they had the right of way. And yes, I have a large umbrella policy. Everyone should have one.

Temple View in St George, UT. Portal Resort in Moab, UT. The KOA in Green River, UT. A CG in Burlington, CO was building 90' sites to accommodate the longer rigs. Some campgrounds will give me two back to back sites that I just pull through and am charged for one site. There is always an RV park willing to fit our long rig in.

Drop trailer and pull with jeep empty to overflow/trailer parking area. But the more I think about this, I got rid of a 5th wheel for MH. So I did look into flat towing my truck as someone mentioned. It is a Ram 2500 4 x4 and it is flat towable. The Blue Ox tow bar is rated for 10,000lbs so all I would need is the base plate, air line run to under dash, mounting plate for braking system and tow wires. I think this route would be much cheaper than a 26' aluminum trailer..

But to answer your question most all the new campgrounds down south are 80-90'. Pandion Ridge in Orange Beach AL we just left from have at least 30 this size.

Interesting thread.

I'm pulling a 22' deck/27' overall open trailer behind a 39' coach and with the hitch/ball mount I'm right at 67'. I haven't been hassled, I try to be prudent and the only frustration is finding a space sometimes to park it all.

I've been able to pull through two spots and pay for one. I've dropped the trailer in the space next to me and have pulled it at a weird angle to get it all out of the driveway. It usually works out and the benefit of being able to take the Jeep or the buggy wheeling while the wife has a car to drive has worked out really well.

The trailer tows really nicely the way it's set up but I could conceivably tow both offroad rigs by dropping the smart, bringing the Jeep far forward over the tongue and leaving the second rig about 18" hanging off the rear which I learned was within the limits in Nevada. I know enough have done it to feel comfortable doing it but it hasn't been a need yet.

We tow a 26' enclosed with the jeep rzr and 2 quads or we flat tow a Silverado and put the golf cart or rzr in the bed

I looked at stackers too, but height is another issue.. I think they r close to 13'10" well that can also b an issue traveling across the. USA

Maybe after this flood is over in my area, I will get back to setting up truck to tow. Even though I did not flood, I was trapped for a couple of days and now dealing with flooded family members. Play time has been put on hold for a while.

Advantage of a trailer is that you can reverse if you get into a situation where you need to. Enclosed trailer saves wear and tear on the vehicle. Also an enclosed trailer might be used as a temporary "garage" at the campsite to store lawnchairs and BBQ.
You need to ensure you have a long tongue on it if you have an enclosed trailer ....a sharp enough turn where there is a big dip in the ground might cause the top of the trailer to kiss the back of the RV (don't ask how i know).
