You'd have to have a severe angle and, the sliding portion would have to be in poor shape in order to stop a 3K-5K lb car from providing adequate inertia to actuate the piston in that R/B.

What do you use to lube the Ready Brake? I have a Hercules and it's getting corroded from road salt.

A slight braking of the coach may not have any impact on the toad overcoming the spring of the ReadyBrute. But I can assure you, a slam of the brakes will.

The lighter the toad, the greater the applied braking of the MoHo will be required to engage the ReadyBrake - because it’s all about the differential momentum between the toad and the MoHo.

And FWIW - except for the tail wagging the dog issues we have (I need to order/install a rear stabilizer) we can’t tell the toad is back there either without looking in the camera.
Tail wagging the dog, had the same issue. I installed 2 " quiet hitch" to take all the slop out of the nsa/ tow bar/ mh hitch cured it 100%

Been using ReadyBrake system since 2016, 1st with Suby Forester, now with Chevy Equinox. Maybe 40k miles towing. Only issue was after initial install with Equinox, cable routing was off, causing cable to bind. Turned front pads to charcoal once! New cable (and new front/rear pads/rotors...), no issue now. I think all new ReadyBrakes now come with coach dash light that shows when toad brake pedal depressed, not just surge brake activates. My system is old enough it didn't come that way, so I added a 2nd brake light switch on the toad brake pedal. So now pedal moves, dash light activates. Can tell if brakes stick in "on" position, or when the pedal moves to activate toad brakes. It doesn't take much coach braking to activate toad brakes. I modified the pull cable with an in-line turnbuckle (new ones also come with one), to fine-tune cable tension. Still pleased with the system. ST
