Ready Brake Set Up with winch bumper

I’ve got a Jeep JLUR that I will be towing. It has an LOD bumper with winch and fairlead installed. Where would be a good place to mount the actuator cable from the ready brake to the front bumper? Most I see have it dead center in the middle of the tow hooks. On my set up that won’t be possible with the winch. Can it be off to side? Or lower on the skid plate? Here is a pic of my bumper for reference.

I mounted the cable to the side of the winch on both my 2004 TJ and my 2020 Gladiator.

I had an LOD bumper with skid plate on mine. I cut a notch at the top of the skid plate and used an L bracket for the brake cable. It worked well until I hit it while off-roading one to many times. I then moved it to the cross member that the bottom of skid plate bolted too.

Mine was a JK but it should be similar.

If you do go off to the side make sure you have plenty of slack so you can make a hard turn to the opposite side that the mount is on. Ask me how I know.

I like how you tied it in to the bolt for the tow hook. Wish I could do that to mine but my tow hooks are built in to the bumper. But at least I know I can mount it off to the side with no problem.

Thanks.

I like the set up. I was worried about putting it through the skid plate and it causing problems while on the trail. Same thing with the electrical cord for lights. Would like it out of the way as much as possible.

Thank you.

On our ‘21 Rubicon, I mounted it below the steel bumper, on an L bracket. My RockJock base plate / skid plate is below the bumper. Breakaway cable tucked up to the left side.
I figure it I drag/snag it wheeling there will be more damage to worry about than the brake bracket.

I like this. The L bracket prevents it from being at a bad angle with the skid plate facing towards the ground. Thanks.
