Ready Brute Elite installation

So, we've got our new Ready Brute Elite mostly installed on our 2017 Jeep JKU and it works great. I've seen several people say that they modified the brake light monitor to connect it to the Jeep's brakes rather than the RB brake lever - can somebody explain in detail exactly how that modification is made?

I have a readybrake but I didn't wire it the way that you are wanting to do it. It's just a light controlled by a switch. I imagine all they did is wire the hot side to the brake light. Ground or return will still go to ground. So when the brake light comes on it also powers the readybrake light bulb.

Have a look at this thread: http://www.irv2.com/forums/f85/wirel...ng-302948.html

I used a remote relay like the ones discussed here but since my toad has a receiver hitch and wiring for a trailer I just used the trailer connector for the signal to trigger the transmitter. If your toad is not set up to tow a trailer you could just wire the transmitter across the toad's brake light switch. Every combination of toad and RV is going to be little different I suppose. If you're handy with a voltmeter and a soldering iron this is a simple project.

I just tapped into the wire at the brake light switch high up on the brake pedal arm. Can't remember the wire color. It's a real handy light to have and actually tells you when the brakes are on and not just when the RB actuating arm is pulled.
