Recommend Toad and Tow bar combination
I have a 5th wheel so I am of no help but have a friend that is looking for guidance and recommendation. Would like to help aim him in the right direction.
He wants to flat tow what ever they get, want a manual transmission and keep tow weight of vehicle and tow bar under 3500 lbs. They were looking at a mini cooper and checking to see if any of the small pickups would fit into those requirements.
Is there any places to send him to help gather info and help in his decision making. What are the preferred and best vehicle (most common) used.
His thoughts on the vehicle were to have a place where one person could sleep while the other was driving. Thats why the thoughts of a small pickup.

Totally confusing. This guy thinks it's a good idea for someone to be "sleeping" in the toad while "the other person was driving" the RV?

Why wouldn't the person who needs to sleep just go to the bedroom in the back of the motorhome and get in the bed with the A/C running and watch TV until they fall asleep?
Here's a link to a site with a list of 4 down towable vehicles. They vary from one year to the next. As a general rule, if it' not on the list it can't be towed 4 down without significant modification.

Additionally, if he has a specific vehicle in mind there is likely someone on this thread who can answer questions about it.

Actually, in some states it is legal. Here's an unverified list -

However, I've done it and it ain't fun.

I have a manual transmission Kia Soul and like it for its weight and great fuel mileage. I bought a 2015 used for less than $12,000

They are delivering motorcoaches, the toad is to get back, that's when they will be sleeping in it. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for the guide, that will get them started. They deliver RV's and this is their return home right. Plus they will use it when they take a break and RV themselves.

Gotcha. A ReadyBrute tow bar would be a good choice as that would simplify their toad brake set up since it is not dependent on the motorhome for operational connections and takes no space in the toad either.
At my age and stage in life I wouldn't consider sleeping in anything smaller than a queen size bed so maybe someone else can weigh in on that.

Store : Remco
Remco will tell what vehicle is towable 4 down and how to modify it to do that if it doesn't come that way. Some are not towable no matter what.
