Reese Tow Bar, Opinions???

I'm looking for a tow bar, & need y'all's opinion.

This is a Reese tow bar. The specs say that it is a class III, & has a 5000# limit. If I purchased this tow bar, I would remove the plates that are on the ends, because I now have the towing brackets that attach to the jeep frame.

I figure that I'd still use the locking pins.

My toad is a 2003 Jeep Wrangler.

Try the Roadmaster Tracker. One piece bars without all those bolts. $230 at etrailer.

I used one for a couple of years and it usually took two of us to hook up; you have to line up perfectly. With one of the new bars (we use a Blue OX) it is much easier. They cost a lot more but are worth it. Check RV Up-Grades a sponsor of IRV2 for various types and prices.

What is the correct method to remove those rubber bumpstops that are on the front bumper?

There is a plastic shield just behind the front bumper (it sits in between the two fog lights). Does this piece have to be removed, to be able to remove the bumper?

Are there any nuts on the inside of the front bumper, or are those screws self-threading?

I suppose I asked a real "stumper" of a question.

Anyway, I finally got around to removing the front bumper. As it turns out, there are 2 nuts on the backside of the front bumper that holds the rubber bump pad in place.

I finally got around to removing the front bumper, & installing the towing brackets.

It really wasn't a hard task, at all. Just had to get off my butt, & get it done.

Here are some pictures of the finished job.

Well, apparently, I am having trouble attaching my photos.
I'll have to try again later with my computer.
