Roadmaster ADDaBrake 8800 not working

Hi, I have a used Roadmaster ADDaBrake 8800 I am testing it, and I plug it it and compressor runs then stops withing a minute. I am able to adjust the air pressure just fine. The instruction say to press the test button and the unit is supposed to cycle 3 times as it presses the brake pedal. Nothing happens. I did test the breakaway switch. As soon as I pulled the pin, the ADDaBrake started up, but did not push the pedal. Any ideas what issue might be?

Thank you.

Kerry

Have you called Roadmaster? They have some pretty good troubleshooters.

Hi Brett,

Thanks for responding. Yes I called. They said its an old model and that it might be control board. Did not off any other suggestion. I opened unit up and it is very clean. Nothing looks out of place.

The Add A Brake is a rather old unit I think they were discontinued about 12 years ago, if I were to guess maybe something has went wrong on the control board, a common failure item on aging electronics are electrolytic capacitors going bad.
