RVI Brake 3

Hello everyone,
I am considering the purchase of the RVI Brake 3 for my toad. Is anyone currently using one or have any feedback from others using it? Thanks in advance for your comments.

I have an invisibrake and it works well. Have been towing with it for 4 years now. Just another choice. A friend has one in his CRV too and it has worked flawlessly.

My suggestion would be to use the forum search function for RVi3, or simply browse the topics in this section.

RVi3 has been the topic of several recent discussions, and it's redundant to begin a new one.

Just finished a 2+ mo trip w/ our RVi3 and thought it worked exactly as expected.
It did not activate unnecessarily - like when using engine braking - but was there and activated when I hit brakes med - hard and wanted toad braking.

I had a Brake Buddy previously but wanted proportional braking w/ simple install. RVi3 hit the mark well

We have it and it’s a great system. Easy setup. The company is easy to work with.

I've had my RVI3 only a short time and have only used it on (2) 20 mile test runs. This unit is really compact and easy to set up. It literally takes 2 minutes to set it up in the toad. To remove it takes 30 seconds. The unit itself is very small and could fit in a shopping bag.
I do not care for the computer tablet (7"-8") that comes with it. It's too large and takes up too much space. The good news (wrote direct from the manufacturer) is it is not required for the system to work if you so choose. The tablet is for initial programming of settings, testing, and monitoring. The actual brake unit in the toad can also be programmed through itself without the tablet if need be. I also don't like the charging cables (one for the tablet and one for the relay antennae [if needed] ) as they look proprietary to only these units.

During testing, the system worked great (so far). The customer support by email was also excellent. Very fast, thorough detailed responses, not some pre-programmed cut and paste job.

Agree completely w size of tablet and no real need to use it.

For info the charge cable is conventional USB to mini or micro? USB used for android phones.
I bought 6 ft & 10 ft cords to run to a convenient plug on driver side and was able to temp tuck it behind the side wall panel.

The only advantage to the tablet I find is to confirm the toad braking is activating at the sensitivity and level I'd like it to and not when I don't want it.
