Scooter/Moped as my Toad

Am looking for a Yamaha Majesty 400, or a Suzuki Burgman 400. These new bike dealers are nuts. 90% of the ads on cycle trader are from dealers. Their low prices appear to be loss leaders. The one dealer in Mobile, AL that actually stood by his advertises quote wants $1600 dealer prep & freight. Want to spend around $5000 out the door (plus tax&title)
Any ideas on a deal?

You might try a previously owned scoot. I have noticed quite a few that are a few years old and really low mileage. Prices on some are pretty low. If and when I replace my Goldwing I will look hard at previously owned models.

MSRP , 2014 model
$6,850 Yamaha Majesty 400,
$7,999 Suzuki Burgman 400 ABS

So you want a 27% discount on a Yamaha or 37.5% discount on the Suzy. Good luck. But if you find it, holler. I'd like to get in on that deal.

Here's a brand new leftover 2010 model. So it's been sitting around the store for 4 years? But it's less than $5k.

Don't typically use it as our toad but have a Honda Reflex. 250 cc and will cruse all day over 70, but don't cruse that fast. Had a 2001 that got banged up, me too, and found a 2002 with just 1384 miles. Paid $2400, looks like it just came off the showroom floor.
This might be an alternative. Found mine on Craigslist.
