Seeking Referral to TOAD Installation Services

We recently bought ‘20 Escape Hybrid and wish to use it as TOAD behind our small Class A. Would like to have all necessary equipment professionally installed. We live in NJ. Any installation referrals would be greatly appreciated. BTW - posted same in Escape Hybrid TOAD thread too. Many Thanks

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!

I had a local truck accessories shop install all the equipment on the toad! Saved us several hundred dollars!

I would suggest that you create a signature showing the make and model of your RV. It will help folks to answer questions you may have in the future. Look at post #30 in the link below that tells you how to do that.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

There are two places you can at least inquire at in NJ that have a pretty good reputation. One is:

Gerber RV Truck & Bus -----> website HERE
60 Burlews CT
Hackensack NJ 07601

(201) 880-7124

They carry both Blue Ox and Roadmaster.

Another that several others have recommended is:

Country Road Automotive -----> website HERE
580 Ryerson Road
Lincoln Park, NJ 07035

(973) 696-6625

They are an authorized Roadmaster dealer but also have access to a variety of towing equipment brands.

eta: another place that is an authorized Roadmaster dealer and has a good reputation but is down near Philadelphia that I forgot to mention is:

Hecht Trailers -- 2 locations south of Trenton -----> website HERE

2075 Route 9
Toms River, NJ 08755

1788 Route 38
Mount Holly, NJ 08060

Just to be certain.......

Have you checked that a 2020 Ford Escape is flat towable?
You mention you want to see about professional installation of the necessary equipment, so I’m assuming you’re not talking about a dolly.

Does the owners manual outline the instructions for “recreational towing” which means you want to tow behind your motorhome. You can’t just pick what vehicle you want to tow......especially the new models.

I had a local auto repair shop install the base plate on our SUV toad. Camping world installed the electrical kit.
