Setting up a toad tow bar install

Hello everyone. I just bought a Honda CR-V as mt toad behind a 42' Newmar Dutch Star MC. Does anyone have a suggestion as to which tow bar would be best. The Toad weighs 3,500 lbs. In addition, where should I have it installed at? I live in West Detroit Sub.

i'd get a 10,000 lb bar then you can tow heavier if you want (bigger is better)

You did buy a 2014 CR-V or earlier, right? Those are the only ones that can be flat towed.

Since you have air brakes on a Dutch Star I think the near-universal recommendation for the CR-V's supplemental braking system will be the Demco Air Force One, which may check one item off the "stuff needed" list.

I have Demco's Stay-IN-Play DUO for gasser motorhomes and I have found their optional CoachLink wireless braking indicator system very helpful. It lights up when car's brakes actually are applied. It's way over-priced but helpful.

you can not go wrong with roadmaster.
i used a 5000 lb stow master from them for 10 years, it was the best towbar i ever used.
the hookup is so simple, its amazing. i now have a heavier toad, so i graduated to a 10000 lb roadmaster towbar.
just park your toad near the center of the back of the coach, within 2.5 and 3 ft, get out and hook it up. its that simple.
i dont work for road master, but i do support their products. they are american made, as much as possible. and they work. i have not had a system from roadmaster that didnt work just as they described them to do.

Most any towbars will be OK for that toad. I highly recommend the NSA ReadyBrute Elite towbars with built-in ReadyBrake. I would also get the NSA breakaway kit. NSA has a lifetime warranty!
