SMI-Stay In Play Install Question

I had my SMI - Stay-IN-Play brake system installed today and I really need input from you all. The braking system was installed on my 2013 Honda C-RV and I became concerned that the operating system was mounted on top of the motor. The installer seemed very confident that all was ok. However, once I returned home and downloaded the install manual, it clearly states not to place the operating unit near any high heat sources.

Again, the installer says it is ok. Can anyone share their experience with me regarding the placement of the operating unit under the hood?

I just want to be sure there will be no problems once I hit the road. Thanks!

Mine is installed on the forward fire wall and has been ok for three years. Call SMI on Monday and ask them. They have great customer support

Do you have the plastic case or the new metal style?
