So far weight seems to help I'm usually over 7k on the Rubicon.

I'll give those trails a try if I have some time this trip.Moab EJS hopefully next year
Just watched utubes of those trails...some serious wheeling..I may be just a tad big for some...
If you haven't been to Sand Hollow State park in southern Utah, you need to go. A group of 16 of us retired crazies go there every Oct for a week of moderate to serious crawling. Easy access from the campground to the trails. Used to go to Moab, but quit and now go to SH for more challenging trails close together.

I also have the LS in my Juggy with 43" stickies. Only 300 hp, but also only 4300#

Do the wrangles need to be manual or can you tow an auto as dinghy?

Either automatic or manual transmission Wranglers make great toads. I have towed our 04 auto, and our 2016 auto all over. Never a problem.
Recreational towing is all covered in the Jeep owner's manuals.

No problem with an auto: transfer case in N, transmission in P, parking brake off and away you go! If the Wrangler is pre-2008 then you need to leave the key in to unlock the steering column, but post-2008 they removed the steering column lock so you can keep your key in your pocket.

We've done Moab for the Easter Jeep Safari for 14 years in a row and many, many trails in Ouray CO and lots of other places. It's been a ton of fun. But, this present one, a '15 Jeep JKUR, only has a *Leveling kit* on it, some 315 All terrains on American Racing-Anson Off Road 17" wheels, two Smittybilt XRC bumpers (the front we tow by) and Mopar High-top fenders. There's some other small mods too but, those are the main ones.

WE love this Jeep. As stated, it's a breeze to hook up and disconnect. It's quite capable of even some tougher trails as well as, it rides and handles like a dream, bone stock Jeep. Good luck with yours.

Do you tow by the shackle mounts? if so where did you get the adapters?

I just bought a Blue Ox set up used locally and it came with the shackle adapters from Blue Ox for a Wrangler with an aftermarket bumper

We are also looking for a jeep. Why do you like the Rubicon more? Thanks in advance

The Rubicon has lockers and sway bar disconnect but the real deciding factor was at the time I order mine I want a 6 cylinder without ETorque and the Rubicon was the only one you get just a plain Jane 6 cylinder.

Jeep Wrangler towd behind a Class A Vista

We have a 2018 Wrangler JL 2.0 turbo automatic with Roadmaster baseplate and ReadyBrute elite tow setup

I use the Jeep both as a daily driver and towd replacing the Infiniti G35 coupe and Suzuki Samurai I had before

The Roadmaster baseplate is an easy and really clean installation with the arms removed when not being towed (Seriously, only takes 10 seconds to remove or install)

ReadyBrute’s integrated ReadyBrake eliminates the need for additional supplemental braking system, With no power or wires to hook up to the towd.

E brake cable and brake-away cable clevis loops are recessed in the plastic under bumper shield not noticeable unless you are looking for them

Really the simplest, cleanest and best setup and a lot friendlier on your wallet.

Jeep Wrangler JL towd

To make the Wrangler more tow friendly and compatible:
In addition to removing the ignition/steering lock thereby eliminating the need to keep a key in the ignition, about 5 minutes after you put the transfer case into Neutral, the brake light circuit is disabled so isn’t any feedback to interfere with the tow light setup wired into the existing rear lights, when the pedal is depressed by the aux system.

Wrangler JL

The 4cyl turbo has more torque than the 6
AND gets max HP & torque @ only 2000 rpm
Incredible low end power

It maybe the greatest engine out there but I didn't want this:

"The eTorque system replaces the conventional alternator, which is spun by engine power via accessory belt, with a 48-volt motor/generator that captures braking energy for storage and later uses the energy to boost the engine at low speeds"

I also didn't want a very expensive to replace additional 48 volt battery and high dollar 48-volt motor/generator. Just more stuff to break on the trail. I also didn't want the chance that the turbo could by hydro locked by water on the trail. The extra power to me isn't important on the trail since in 4 wheel low with all the power I have ever need. Also, All 2.0-liter models are required to run premium gasoline.

I believe in keeping simple with proven technology. You may disagree but that's one reason why I bought the Rubicon.
