Sthel 2 wheel tow dolly

My dolly had a hard time for the pan to turn with or without car on it. I looked all over and couldn't find any info on this except take it back to the dealer. So myself and son did the best thing we tore it down.

They said the pad was Teflon but mine isn't and the manufacturer applied grease on it. This was full of grit

The bottom of the pan was also full of grit and it was painted which cause gum balls.

We cleaned up the area and removed the paint on the rubbing surface and reapplied a good water resistant grease. Torque on nut no one knows so I will probably do 60 foot lbs or more. I hope this will help others with this issue.

I would tighten the nut and the back it off a quarter turn. It is, or should be a lock nut. They hold where ever you leave it. The parts need to turn on it, like a wheel bearing.

Mine can be pushed, side to side, by hand. It also has some kind of white material on the sliding areas.
