Super Duty toad?

The wife and I just bought a new Class C, E-450 with the 7.3 Godzilla. Her Toyota can’t be towed 4 down without extensive alterations. My 2017 F250 CAN be towed 4 down, but I think it’s on the heavy side.
The motor home weighs 13,960 lbs all ready to camp, full gas, water, and propane, the wife and I, food, and two dogs on board. It is 28 ft long, and has 10’7” of overhang from the rear tires to the hitch. GVWR is 14,500, GCVWR is 22,000.
I have an old weight ticket for the truck, loaded with camping gear and ready to tow our previous camper. Full tank of gas and driver on board it’s at 6900 lbs.
The motor home hitch is rated at 750/7500.
The numbers seem to indicate I can tow my truck, but is it smart and safe to do so? I’ve seen a few pictures of Super Duty toads, but they were pulled by big diesel pushers.
I would of course have a supplemental braking system in the truck.
I’d like input from those of you who may have done this before, or seen it done. Does the combination work, or is it unsafe?

Well, you know from the weights that you are pushing the limits. The wheels don't fall off just because you go 1 lb over the GCWR or the hitch rating. Nor is it guaranteed that nothing will break or go wrong is you stay 1 lb under. The higher you go, the greater the risk. Who's to say when it's no longer "smart"?

I know folks that mostly camp close to home & don't really travel much. I suppose if your use was like that then fine. If you plan to get out and see the country then I predict you'll hate pulling the near 7000 pound toad.

I’d lighten the truck up and weigh it with 1/4 tank of gas and see what it weighs. Something else to consider is a truck that big could cause a fair amount of tail wag in side winds. You’ll also want a good supplemental brake system that you trust not to fail.

So, truck was 6900 loaded for a trip. Empty it out and tow it with a 1/4 tank of fuel and you’ll probably lose near 900lbs.

So let’s say it will weigh 6k lbs-6200lbs. It sounds like you will have plenty left for a cushion for towing! You’ll definitely notice the weight behind you, but it will do it!
Make sure to get a good braking system. And a 10k rated tow bar. And double check the hitch mounting points!

This is what I tow for short trips close to home. I’m on a 24k lb chassis with a 30k GCWR.

You may have the weight capacity, but what the transmission rating? What transmission?

My Breeze has a 5k hitch. I tow my F350 short, flat distances. I mostly did it to see if I could. I have since bought a 4 door keep to tow. The F350 is close to 9500lbs. I am overloading my hitch and my Allison 1000 transmission.

I've owned 5 Super Duty trucks, all with V10's or V8's. None weighed less then 6400 empty, low on fuel and wouldn't consider maxing out your new gas powered motorhome. Yes, it's rated to tow 7500 pounds, but I sure hope you don't have mechanical problems that the warranty would cover, or will it? I presently tow a 95 F150 that weighs 5500 full of fuel and empty with motorhome in my signature that is rated for 10,000 tow and the DP weighs 33,000 and has a max GVWR of 47,600.
Big difference as your SD truck will weigh about half of your coach weight. Having towed a lot of things I would not consider towing your truck with your new coach. Just not enough "horse" to tow that weight.

The more I think about this, the more I think it’s a bad idea.
To top it off, I was wrong about the truck weight. Weighed again today with most of my detritus removed and a nearly full tank and I’m at 7000 lbs. I must have weighed the truck when it was brand new when I got that 6900 lbs. The Softopper®️ and Decked®️ weren’t on it then.
I looked at an F150 today. The salesman and I got it into Neutral Tow by following along with a YouTube video, but couldn’t get it back to normal mode. I wasn’t real impressed with the whole process.
I have my eye on a Wrangler…

You can tow it per the weight numbers, but you'll know it's back there. BirchyBoy brings up a good point about tail wag, it will push you around.

I tow a 6100-pound Ford Raptor behind a DP and I know it's there. When not towing the MH handles differently. You'd be REALLY pushing it, even with the new Ford motor, especially on a grade.

If a new or different toad is not in your future, maybe a tow dolly for the Toyota.

4Runner can’t be dollied, it needs a trailer.
Rear axle is almost at RAWR, so I need a toad.
I’m also suspicious of the CAT scale I weighed the MH on. Not the same scale I weighed the Super Duty on, by the way.
When I weighed the motor home the ticket showed 80 lbs on the third axle. I wasn’t towing, and the third axle platform was empty. At the time I disregarded that 80 lbs, but now I wonder how accurate that scale is. I’m going to weigh at the other scale when I get a chance.

It may be able to tow it but I always think about stopping and emergencies. It seems way to dangerous to me.
