Supplemental braking systems for toads

I need a new braking system for my toad. I had the Even Brake for years but was never happy with the performance of that system. But alas it died just as we purchased our first DP a Journey 42e with Tag. So I would like to hear others experience with these braking systems Before I sink another $1500 to $2000 into another poor performer!

Thank you!

Had an EvenBrake for about 7 years, used it on two different toads. A Scion xA then a MINI Cooper. Hated the EvenBrake, was particularly a challenge with the MINI, way small driver floorboard area!

About 8 years ago went to a Ford Escape (still have it). After buying it, immediately had a RoadMaster InvisiBrake installed. Have used it many many times, it’s great.

YMMV

We went with the RVIBrake 3. Initial install was easy and straight forward, setup prior to towing easy as well as removal at destination, works as advertised.

Doesn't get any easier than Air Force One. Had it installed in 2009 and it is now on the 3rd toad. Easy hook-up and works great!

Demco has great customer support. In the process of switching from Delta Force to Stay n play. (Both Demco products). Stay n play is permanently mounted and more reliable. I had bad luck with Delta Force, but the company stood behind the unit with a 5 year warranty.

We also own the RVI Brake3.... By far the BEST one we ever owned. Worth every penny and you can add things like "TPMS" and a "toad battery charger" (which we did) and everything is on one, mini tablet like screen.

Place the unit on the floor
Attach to break peddle
Plug in power
Plug in breakaway wire.
Press button
Press button again
Press button a third time...... your done!

Max, two minutes to set up!

here's a link.... on the page you can click on the video to see a demo.

Hope this helps.

Good luck!

If it can be fitted to your toad, the M&G is the best there is. One air line to hook up and you are done

Air Force One is the top of the line. E-trailer may even install for free. They did mine for videoing the install.

Everyone will and have said what they have is the best. I've had the M&G system in my last four toads. Works like you want a toad brake to work, one simple air line to hook up, it's proportional and basically zero maintenance. Maybe there is a better one on the market, but I have no need to look.

I'm with Crasher^^^^^^ Everyone's brake is going to be the best.

When I owned a DP, I had Air Force One - I looked at the M&G system but the brain box that would go into my toad was too big where the AF1 was smaller & flatter. I had a subcompact toad.

Both are plug 'n pay. Plug in the air hose and go......it doesn't get any simpler than that. No brake "machine" to attached to pedals or to stow when not in use.

Good luck.....

Another happy RVi3 customer. No air brakes, easy set up, ability to apply brakes manually, and not a permanent install. On our second Jeep with it.

Actually most have simply said what they have.

So you are saying that each of us should go into some sort of dissertation about the pros and cons of our particular system, even when they have already been described?
