Tail Light Wiring
I have a 2020 Forest River Forester LE 2851 and was told by the factory to replace my old lights which have a red, white, black and purple wire with the new lights which only have red, white & black wires. I have attached a picture of the old light connections...please advise...Thanks

I'm curious...why would the factory tell you to do that?
Shouldn't electrical wiring be done by the dealer so when a problem occurs they are responsible and not you?

I'm doing it myself since it is a 2 hour round trip to the dealer and maybe a week to get it done...they are slow at everything

I'm kind-a curious too in the fact that, you're working on a *2020* vehicle and, you are told to replace your OLD lights? What EXACTLY do they (I'm assuming the factory) mean by "OLD"? I mean, I don't know what an: 2020 Forest River Forester LE 2851 is, Class A, C, B, Diesel, gas, what? And, why, are THEY wanting you to replace something that on a 2020 vehicle? What are you trying to accomplish here?

Let's start with this.
What light is this? tail light, inside light, etc. Did it fail or what is the need for replacement.
Best bet would be to ask the factory. I'm guessing they may have provided the incorrect light for your application.
