Time to replace the Explorer

My on-line searchings suggest that the only mid to large SUV's that are flat-towable are manufactured by the "Big 3" here in the US. Is anyone successfully flat-towing any mid to large SUV's from Infinity, Acura, Lexus, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Porsche, Volvo, Mercedes, Land Rover, Audi, VW, BMW or any other European/Asian manufacturers, 2016 or newer, with automatic transmissions?

If you haven't already, I suggest you check the list of towables you can access from the FMCA web site. I'm going to guess, however, that few on your list will appear on that list.

I wish you luck.

I have reviewed both the FMCA information and the Motorhome Magazine information on towable vehicles. The reason for my posting here was to see if there were some good success stories on towing any of the manufacturers that I listed, knowing that the setup may have involved some vehicle modifications or special procedures.

My expectations are minimal, but it never hurts to ask, as there may be some "out there" that didn't make the study for either FMCA or Motorhome.

Thanks so much, and cheers to you, Jay & Peggy.

Why don't you just tow one of the "Big 3"?
