The reason you shouldn't dolly tow with a Wrangler (stock transfer case) is because there is no bearing between the drive sprocket and the mainshaft in the transfer case. The surface between the two is part of the pressurized oiling system and in normal operation there is very little rpm difference between them. With a dolly at 65mph the drive sprocket is held still by front tires and the mainshaft (driveshaft) is running 2500-3000 rpm. The excellent oiling system will allow one to do it for awhile but it could seize anytime.
